Ian Dury - Laughter

Fakta Demon Records are delighted to welcome back the one of the richest and most diverse catalogues in the British rock cannon from the iconic, much-missed Ian Dury. Kicking off what promises to be an exciting and comprehensive reappraisal of the artist’s repertoire come the first three of Ian’s gold-plated studio albums, available again on vinyl –  the debut ‘New Boots And Panties!!’ (1977),  1979’s classic ‘Do It Yourself’ and ‘Laughter’ (1980). After two platinum – selling solo albums on the bounce, Ian Dury found himself at a creative crossroads with ‘Laughter’. His songwriting partner Chas Jankel had exited The Blockheads afer a gruelling promotional tour and was replaced with Dr. Feelgood legend Wilko Johnson on guitar duties. Meanwhile Blockheads keyboard player Mick Gallagher returned to the band following a US tour with The Clash.
