"With the EP "All the Blood Spilt", the thrash punks in Hostilia made an entire subgenre choke on its beer. Honestly, the winds from the Gothenburg band’s debut release haven’t calmed down yet. The first impression was clearly a stormy statement of intent. But don’t think for a second that Hostilia has gotten cocky.
"Face the Fire" is a bold, confident, and downright thunderous album where old-school thrash meets a modern way of interpreting ancient feats. Metallica whistles by, Testament drops in for a visit, and Exodus peeks around the corner — "Face the Fire" is a medley of the very best that history has carved out.
I’m floored by the opening trio “Power Out”, “Face the Fire”, and “P.T.D” — good grief, what fantastic songs. And there’s more. “Bone Collector” and “Eternal Death” are contagiously charged as well. There are also small splashes of hockey chants sprinkled here and there, adding a sticky touch.
Posers — hold on tight to your studded belts, because Hostilia is here to steal them."
